SMDA Newsletter – SMDA Sub-Committee Election
Dear all,
On 8th February 2022, SEC Parties were advised that the election for three roles on the SMDA Sub-Committee (SMDASC), each serving a term of 24 months, had commenced.
These roles included:
- One Large Supplier role represented from the Large Supplier SEC Party constituency
- One Manufacturer role represented from the Other SEC Party constituency
- One additional MAP role represented from the Other SEC Party constituency
The SMDASC is the decision-making body for the SMDA Scheme, overseeing the Scheme and discussing commercial aspects of the Scheme. It ensures that the SMDA testing services are aligned with industry and delegates technical responsibilities to the Management Panel Sub-Group for investigation.
The SMDASC meets every two months, and members are responsible for making key decisions and recommendations to the SEC Panel in relation to scheme project spending.
If you wish to nominate yourself or a prospective candidate, please complete the online Election form, available once logged in to the SEC website, by 5pm Thursday 3rd March 2022. If you do not have a SEC website account, you can register here.
Following this time, if only one candidate is nominated for a position they will be elected and appointed. If more than one candidate is nominated, a 10 Working Day vote will be instigated. If there is a tie following the vote, the SMDASC Chair will cast the deciding vote to elect a candidate.
Best Wishes
Kunal Sharma, Head of SMDA Scheme
